Who We Are

The Greenhealth Story

Two doctors. One shared belief. A clinic built on relationship.

Warm clinic community care

Greenhealth was founded by Dr. Poon and Dr. Hong, two doctors who grew up in Singapore's HDB heartlands, when the family GP was simply part of life.

Back then, your doctor knew your name, your family, your story. You didn't have to explain yourself at every visit. They remembered. They noticed when something seemed off, even before you mentioned it. That continuity, quiet and unhurried, made all the difference.

That kind of medicine has become harder to find. Clinics have grown larger and corporatized. Doctors rotate. Patients move between unfamiliar faces. The system has become more efficient in many ways, but something quietly important has been lost along the way.

Greenhealth was started with a simple hope. To be the kind of clinic that people feel at home in. Where your doctor knows not just your medical history, but a little of your life. Where you don't have to start from the beginning every time you walk through the door.

We believe that good medicine is built slowly, visit by visit, through familiarity and trust.

A Note from Dr Poon and Dr Hong

Both of us have worked across many parts of Singapore's healthcare system. We have seen how much a consistent, caring presence can mean to a patient and their family, especially during difficult moments.

We started this clinic because we wanted to practise medicine in a way that felt true to why we became doctors in the first place. To know our patients. To be there over time. To care not just for the illness, but for the person.

Thank you for placing your trust in us.

Medicine is not only about science. It's also about the art of being present — truly present with the patient in front of you. Feeling their pain, their worries, and their hopes.

Dr Hong is a senior Family Physician with over 10 years of experience in primary care. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2010 and was awarded the SingHealth Best House Officer Award in 2011.

His interest in dermatology led him to complete the Graduate Diploma in Family Practice Dermatology at the National Skin Centre in 2017, and he furthered his training in mental health with the Graduate Diploma in Mental Health from the Institute of Mental Health in 2022.

Dr Hong has a particular interest in weight management and obesity medicine. Minor Surgery

Safe, effective minor procedures performed in clinic under local anaesthesia.

Minor surgery clinic procedure

Proper cleaning and debridement of wounds, followed by suturing to promote healing, prevent infection and minimise scarring. We also offer tissue glue as an alternative for suitable wounds.

Incision & Drainage (I&D)

Treatment for abscesses, boils and infected wounds. A small incision allows pus or fluid to drain, relieving pain, reducing inflammation and promoting faster healing.

Ear Wax Management

Safe removal of excess earwax (cerumen) that has built up and is causing discomfort, hearing loss or risk of infection. We use appropriate tools to gently and safely clear the ear canal.

Nail Surgery

For ingrown toenails, fungal nail infections, trauma and other nail disorders. Procedures include nail wedge resection and nail avulsion, performed under local anaesthesia for comfort.

Joint Injections

Injection of medication into affected joints to reduce inflammation and pain. Commonly performed for trigger finger and tennis elbow. A good alternative to surgery for many patients.

Simple Excisions & Needle Aspiration

Removal of skin lumps, cysts, and lipomas. Needle aspiration for fluid-filled cysts. These are day procedures with minimal downtime.

Cervical Cancer Screening

HPV DNA Self-Test

Private · Comfortable · Accurate.

HPV DNA self-test cervical cancer screening

Cervical cancer can be prevented with regular screening, yet many women avoid Pap smears because of discomfort, embarrassment or anxiety. Greenhealth now offers the HPV DNA self-test, a modern cervical cancer screening method you can perform yourself, in privacy.

Using a soft swab, you collect your own vaginal sample without a pelvic examination. Research shows that PCR-based self-collected samples are as accurate as doctor-collected ones for detecting high-risk HPV, the virus linked to most cervical cancer cases.

You can collect the sample at home or in the clinic, store it at room temperature, and return it the same day or the next day. Your results will be reviewed by our doctor and sent to you by email.

Price

$150

No subsidies currently available. Consultation charges apply for follow-up if result is positive.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the HPV DNA self-test?

The HPV DNA self-test screens for high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV), the virus that can cause cervical cancer. It allows you to collect your own sample privately using a soft swab, without the need for a speculum examination.

How accurate is the self-test?

Studies show that when tested using PCR-based laboratory methods, self-collected samples are as accurate as samples collected by a doctor.

Who should consider this test?

Women aged 30 to 79 years old, especially those who prefer a more comfortable, private screening option, have not done a Pap smear in the past 3 to 5 years, or find pelvic examinations uncomfortable.

How do I collect the sample?

You will receive a self-collection kit with a soft swab, sealed tube and instructions. Steps: (1) Wash your hands. (2) Open the tube and gently insert the swab a few centimetres into the vagina. (3) Rotate the swab for about 10 to 30 seconds. (4) Place it back into the tube and close securely. You can do this at home. It is quick, painless and private. The sample can be kept at room temperature and returned the same day or the next day.

Can I do the test during my period?

No. Please wait at least 5 days after your period ends before doing the test.

When should I avoid the test?

Avoid self-collection if you are pregnant, within 3 months after childbirth, recovering from recent gynaecological surgery, or experiencing unusual bleeding, pelvic pain or discharge.

How will I receive my results?

Results are usually ready in 5 working days. They will be reviewed by our doctor and sent to you by email, along with any follow-up advice if needed.

How often should I do this test?

If your result is normal, repeat the HPV DNA test every 5 years.

What happens if my result is positive?

A positive HPV result means the virus is present and not that you have cancer. Schedule a consultation with our doctor to discuss the next steps. Consultation charges apply.

Are there any subsidies? Can it be done under Healthier SG?

There are currently no subsidies for the HPV DNA self-test, and it is not part of the Healthier SG screening programme at this time.

Health Screening FAQs

Do I need to fast before my health screening?

Fasting is preferred for more accurate glucose and cholesterol results, but due to advances in lab technology, the screening can proceed even if you are unable to fast. If fasting, please refrain from food, coffee, tea, milk or sugary drinks for at least 8–10 hours. Plain water is allowed.

What happens on the day of my health screening?

The whole process takes around 30 minutes: (1) Arrive & register. (2) Submit urine/stool samples if required. (3) Blood pressure, height & weight measurements. (4) ECG if included. (5) Doctor review & blood test. (6) Done — if fasting, you can now eat!

Will there be consultation charges?

Consultation charges apply only if a medical consultation for an illness or symptom is conducted. If the discussion is limited to your health screening, no additional charges are incurred.

When will my results be ready?

Green D: approximately 1 week. All other packages: approximately 3 working days. We will notify you via WhatsApp once results are ready. You may then walk in or book an appointment to review with our doctor.

Do I need an appointment for health screening?

We strongly recommend booking an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome but may wait. Note: weekend screenings must be before 10:30 AM. Book online, call 6592 4458, or WhatsApp 8897 7868.

What is Lipoprotein (a) and why is it important?

Lipoprotein (a) is a genetic risk factor for heart disease not captured in standard cholesterol tests. High levels increase heart attack and stroke risk — largely inherited and not improved by diet or exercise alone. Recommended if you have family history of early heart disease.

Urine & Stool Collection

Can I get the urine or stool container in advance?

Yes. We recommend collecting the containers in advance so you can comfortably collect the samples at home. If you are opting for Green B, C or D, visit us during operating hours to pick up the containers.

How do I collect my urine sample?

Use the sterile urine container provided. Wash hands first. Morning sample preferred. Steps: (1) Clean the genital area and dry. (2) Urinate into the toilet for 1–2 seconds first. (3) Collect midstream urine into the container. (4) Fill at least halfway. (5) Close the lid tightly.

How do I collect my stool sample?

Use the stool container with built-in scoop. Keep urine and water away from the sample. Steps: (1) Place toilet paper in the bowl to catch the stool. (2) Collect a small pea-sized amount with the scoop. (3) Do not overfill. (4) Close lid tightly.

How do I pack and bring my samples to the clinic?

Step 1: Place containers in the specimen bag provided. Step 2: Seal the specimen bag. Step 3: Double bag — place the sealed bag into a second plastic bag before bringing to the clinic.

When should I collect and submit my samples?

Submit samples as early as possible on the morning of your screening. If delayed, store in a cool place and bring the same day. Deadlines: Mon–Fri before 3PM, Saturday before 10AM. Late submission will delay your results.

Imaging Tests (X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammogram)

Can I add imaging tests to my health screening?

Yes, imaging tests such as ultrasound, X-ray and mammogram can be arranged. They may not always be on the same day, subject to our imaging centre partner's availability.

Why can't I book an imaging test before my health screening?

We can only assist with imaging appointments after your health screening. This ensures the doctor first assesses your health and recommends the most appropriate scans, avoiding unnecessary tests.

How will I book my imaging appointment if needed?

If scans are recommended, our staff will assist with booking at our imaging centre partner. We will inform you of available slots and coordinate the appointment.
